We created a timeless vintage logo for a big family that takes extended vacations every year in huge homes and invites as many as people as possible to stay with them on their holidays. Along with the standard logo, we also developed an identity system with several brand extensions and themed logos for annual commemorative t-shirts that capture both the spirit of the lodging and vacation location. In 2014, the family rented a house in Encinitas, CA, which, of course, required a classic Miami Vice vibe steeped in the sleazy, unapologetically over-the-top design cues of the 80’s. 2015 brought the family to Lake Tahoe, CA, where they stayed in a lodge-like mansion just outside of the quaint town of Truckee, CA. Thus, a design encapsulating the expeditious spirit of the mountains and the lake was necessary.
